I'm trying to find what I was told is an old military style snap.  The bottom part is a stud with a small ball on the top.  The top part has a hole this ball just snaps into.  They are on a pair of older saddle bags.  Any help finding these would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!

I know what you're asking, but I don't know where you could find this piece of hardware, I don't believe you want a Sam Brown or button stud, the one you want has the small ball on one end, and a snap closier on the other end , you just push the ball end into the closier and it secures it, I'll keep my eye's open, years ago my Dad had this type snap on a riffle scabbard, but you see it now in Army surplus stores on various items, it was used a lot on canvas flap over holsters, the closier itself is about the size of a quarter.
Check out this link, I think this is what you want, it's at the top of the page, http://cgi.ebay.com/WW-1-US-Army-USMC-Soldiers-WEB-gear-AMMO-Pouch-1918-/220628403847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item335e7a4687

Can't recall the name of them, like on the WWII 1911 tanker holster.  Last ones I saw were in a tack shop.

P.S;   Ned & Outrider;  Them's the ones.  "Lift the dot" fasteners.
