GOOD MORNING GENTS,
I'VE GOT AN OLD 311A STEVENS THAT IS BAFFLING ME? I'VE REPLACED MY FIRING PINS AND COMPLETLY GUTTED AND CLEANED MY ENTIRE RECIEVER, AND YET I STILL ONLY GET A SMALL INDENTATION FROM MY FIRING PINS WHEN I TRY AND SHOOT IT? DOES ANYBODY HAVE A DIRECTION FOR ME TO GO? THE LOCAL SHOPS JUST SAY BRING IT IN AND WE'LL SEE WHAT WE FIND. I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WORN OR OUTA PLACE. ANY HELP WOULD BE NICE. TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A GOOD OLD PIECE OF IRON.

Have you checked the firing pin protrusion after replacing them?

I've performed all the basics you mention on my 311 (H?) during rebuild 10+ years ago......the replacement firing pins (Brownells) had shoulders that were not cut as deep as the original ones, so I had a friend correct them. If I hadn't done this, I'm sure the indent would not be deep enough. Too bad I had to put it together, take apart, correct and reassemble...compressing the hammer springs was no laughing matter.
