I picked up a copy of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper from Nov. 16, 1889. On the cover is an illustration of Rube Burrows. I love finding these old papers and things with Rube on or in them since I grew up on his old land that is now owned by my grandmother.

Just thought I would share with everyone.

Here is the cover with Rube Burrows on it.

Pretty cool Rube!
Today's newspapers dont have a thing artwise compared to the ones of old.

That would have to do with the availability of highly portable digital photographic apparatus'.  :P

Very cool.  I'm guessing that's all hand lithographed.  I have a copy of Frederic Remington's "Done in the Open" printed 1902 that is done like that.  I find old bookes, documents, and newspapers more fascinating as old guns.  Maily due to the low survivabilty rate.

Thanks guys.....they really are nice to look at. Its amazing to me to see the artistic work that went into these old newspapers. Its even more neat when they are about someone on your own stomping grounds.
