Doc Cuervo

Depends a lot on weather and situation but usually it's either a Sig 239 in 40 S&W or a Cold Combat Commander 45ACP. I have been known to pack my 3" Cimmaron Thunderer in 44WCF.

MJN77

Glock 17, S&W 439, Walther PP .32, 1911A1 .45 acp, .45 Ruger bisley vaquero or any number of Uberti .44-40s or .45s with differing barrel length depending on weather I am going out on the farm or to the store.

I know here at least that 130 year old gun thats used for self defence will become court evedence. and "if" you ever see it again it will be years down the line. forensics and court storage are brutal on guns. I carry a genaric J frame 38 spl. if I ever have to give it up , the new one will look just like it. DR

Twitchy

Glock 23C which belongs to city.  When it gets put into evidence I will get issued a new one.  Depending on where I am I will also put a Ruger LCP in my front pocket and maybe an M4 style rock river with a chest rig in the car, especially if I am moonlighting somewhere.

Doc Sunrise

I carry a SIG P220 .45ACP everyday.  I take full responsibility for taking care of myself and my family.

Green River Powell aka RonC

A Kahr MK9.
In the woods, I carry a Ruger SP101 in 357.

Ron

Danny Bear Claw

A Ruger Super Red Hawk Alaskan in caliber 454 Casull.  Loaded with Cor Bon 225 gr. solid copper hollow points.  I guess if I must walk in bear country I could load it with 454s.  Back up gun is a Colt Trooper MK-V in caliber 357 magnum with 4 inch barrel.  I also sometimes carry a good old 1911 loaded with 230 gr. Black Talons.

I looked for a good "belly gun" for a long time and settled on the Alaskan.  I've only shot 454s in it a couple of times and it was the lightest loads I could find in that caliber.  I've mostly shot the 45 Colt loads in it,  i.e. the Silver Tips, Cor Bon 200 gr. JHPs and the really hot Cor Bon 225 gr. solid copper HPs mentioned above.  The gun is very accurate with every thing I've fed it so far.  I carry 4 speed loaders for the Alaskan, 2 speed loaders for the Trooper and when I carry the 1911, I carry 4 extra 8 round magazines for that.

To answer the post about gun leather used... I use Galco gun leather for all my carry guns but I do have a few cordura nylon holsters that I use some times.  My speed loaders are HKS types and my 1911 magazines are 8 round quality mags like Chip McCormack, Wilson Combat mags, etc.    8)

The new S&W 629 personal Defense Revolver looks like a very interesting belly gun in 44 magnum.  For street carry I think I'd down load it with 44 specials.   ;)

As in a handgun for self defense? I carry my work gun, a Glock 22 that I actually hate. I'm wanting to change guns maybe very soon.

Used to carry a Colt OM, switched to a Browning Hi-Power, finally moved to a Kahr K9.  Am having a
custom CCO worked over for trials, and if I like it, it will become my 3 colder-seasons gun, but the K9
will be the summer and more gun.
