What Do You Carry?

Depending on what I am going to be wearing. I either carry a H&K USP compact in .40 in a Jackass holster. A Springfield 1911A1 in a fobus hip holster. Or a Ruger LCP in .380 in a pocket holster. Sometimes, when I carry the .40 or .45 I also back it up with a North American arms .22 Long revolver. You can put one of those in the watch pocket of your jeans. Love that little gun.

I like the LCP the best because it is very concealable. I preferr the 1911A1 for the fact it is a .45 and will drop just about anthing.

The idea is to carry what fits you and carry it often enough you grow used to it. I've had people tell me my .380 or .22 are too small but I tell them that more people are killed by 380, 22 and 25 bullets each year than just about any other type. I also belive it is better to have a gun you will carry comfortably than to not have one because it is too big or bulky. It is better to have a gun and not need it than it is to need a gun and not have it.

Heavens My Dear Mademoiselle Vouz -

Well ....let us cogitate upon this a bit ....

If one were of such spiritual nature as Mother Theresa or the Dalai Lama or Saint Francis of Assissi, then one need not need fear from feral critters nor Two Legged Wolves.

If one had the youth, strength and skill of Jet Li or Michelle Yo, then one would have sufficient skills to deal with nearly any situation with little more than a fingernail file or a chopstick.

In my younger days of better speed, strength, awareness, and training I felt completely safe in nearly any situation with a good folding knife, heavy walking stick, and a pocket of change.

Nowadays, whilst I work very hard on both the Golden Rule and  becoming a bodhisattva, in the meantime I realize both my limitations and the ugly realities of the Big Scary World.

With that in mind, I find it prudent to ensure that I avail myself of Colonel Colts excellent inventions, and know the bona fides of my companions. It would be so embarassing to be in an unfortunate circumstance, such as staring down the tonsiles of a cougar, and be thinking to oneself, "Why goodness, I have just the thing for this scenario locked up at home".

After all, when when equips oneself with an umbrella, it seldom rains on one's parade :-)

Put your ID in your sock. It's hard to ID a body that's been lying in the outdoors for awhile.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Me too - at least a Px4 storm in .40. When I need something more slender, I have a Star BM in 9mm, which is like carrying a slightly scaled down colt .45 auto. The gun I carry when I am not carrying a gun is a bobcat in .22LR, but I often have that along with one of the others.

When I carry concealed, its my Glock22. I like it.

TallBaldBellied

A S&W Model 15 that I've been fetching around in the same pancake holster for about 35 years now.  Couple a speed loaders, and I can shoot near as quick as an auto-loader.

Instructors at the Columbus, OH police academy were a bit incredulous, until I kept up with the younkers with their new-fangled contraptions.

If'n I'm fetching more than one, the other is a Ruger P-89, 9mm , with two fully loaded magazines.

I don't carry at work these days.  Company rules and what not.  Dadgummed libruls.

And because you carry your wallet, car keys and ATM card, that's a good reason to carry a firearm.

Ragged Earl

Since I work in the oil field in South Texas and spend the majority of my time alone, and usually very far from main roads I find it necessary to carry a gun at all times. Situational awareness isn't going to protect me from illegals in need of transportation.

I carry a J frame in a pocket holster everywhere I go.

Pancho Peacemaker

Colt New Agent .45 acp.

It goes pretty much everywhere I go.

I pray I never have to use it, but I'm sure glad I have it.

Amen to that. I worked 5 years in a psych ward and have great awarness of my surroundings, but there will be times when that won't be enough. Especially when they see you before you see them and they choose you as their target. The urban jungle does not favor the foolish.
