As in a handgun for self defense? I carry my work gun, a Glock 22 that I actually hate. I'm wanting to change guns maybe very soon.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

I carry a MK VI Webley in .45 AutoRim, . . or a Pietta made replica Remington New Model Army .44 cap & ball.
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

My self I carry a 5 1/2 inch Single Six in 32 mag loaded with a 128 gr FNGC (Lyman 311316) with a healthy load of H110 that the 323 S&W duplicates, hand loaders have been doing the same thing for over 25 years.

Kimber Ultra Cary in 45 ACP or a Furrin copy of the 1911a1 in 45 ACP.  Both have been customized for ease of shooting and both are well used as shooters.  Sometimes I will carry one of my Ruger Vaqueros, but that is more when I am out in the woods.

I prefer a Merwin Hulbert .38 S&W in public. The folding hammer is pretty tidy.

Shotgun.. no point in making them guess if I am packing or not right?  loll   I use to carry a SW 357 and a derringer 22 double shot.  Right now, I don't  carry a thing in the car with me.. I figure they will let me go about 10 miles down the road.. lol

Not going to disagree with you.. but I don't pack right now.  Those guns were sold, dumb but they were.  But I do like to keep my shotgun close by at home.. no point in using something else at home.. lol

I think that if you have to shoot someone you ought to do it with a classy gun. Shooting in self defense, of yourself or someone else, is a last ditch serious thing. It needs to be well thought out.

I second that.  Your preferred carry gun is on the order of 130 years old.  Here in the Dominion, there is a loophole that allows to carry and shoot what is deemed "Antique status" pistols wherever one can legally carry and shoot a rifle.  Won't bore you all with the details, but our "Antique" requirements are more stringent (and stupid) than the Americans.  I have a pre-1898 Colt 1892 fixer-upper that I would like to carry as a bush gun.  Problem is that .38 Long Colt is not deemed an "Antique calibre" but .41 Long Colt is.  So that's on my to-do list.  I have a S&W #3 coming soon in .44 Russian that I may take out.  My minty Merwin Hulbert in .32 MH on the .38 frame has been deemed to valuable to haul around on a belt.

As for modern handguns... one can dream, thinking I'd lean toward a wheelgun.  Big bore, all 4's.

How about this one?Or one of those,i need a holster for those ;)
