Gentleman would you please be so kind as to help me find any pictures of this rig? It is a black and red set with about 1 inch silver tips on the holsters. I was able to see it in person but cannot find any pictures of it now. Any similar styled rig such as the brass tipped slim jim holsters in Packing Iron would also be appreciated. The leather art on this forum is simple amazing! Thanks for sharing it.

                                                             Thanks in Advance,

I don't remember the rig you're talking about, but would suggest you look through the old thread of " Leathersmiths Show Us Your Stuff", we have quite an archive of gun leather in this thread, there is a lot to look at and will take some time to go through it, but you might fine something close. One of our members also might know  where you might be able find this rig. ??? :-\

 Thanks Ten Wolves,

I certainly follow the " Leather Art" threads and pour over them regularly. I was just hoping someone might have pics of that particular rig as it was a beautiful example of 'simple elegance' silver caps and all. It was a short barrel set made by Big Ed Douglas for the SASS scholarship raffle that year and was a style I would like to use sometime. Keep up the amazing leather work guys. BB

Any thing like this? The idea for the tips came after seeing his rig.KT

Bonesteel Badger

KT that is exactly what I had in mind. I knew you all would have what I neededso I thank you so much! Now I'm going to reconoiter on that rig some more. Muchas Gracias! BB

I don't know if this is what you want.  The photo I found is not very big so it's hard for me to tell anything by it, other than it appears that the holsters have large silver toe caps (hard for me to tell).  Also, it states that the rig was a raffle prize for benefit of the SASS museum, not a scholarship fund, so maybe this is not what you are looking for.

The photo caption reads, "Coyote Calhoun presents the EMF Revolvers and Rig to "John Henry Giles" and "Dallas Cowboy" at the SASS Convention."

If you are really interested, contact SASS with a copy of this picture and the caption and see if they will rise off their sedentary posteriors and get you a good copy of this picture or a good one of the rig you are interested in.

Okay, here goes........
