Thanks Bob.
Much cheaper than I thought it would be. I have never seen the prices, as the online catalog just shows the items, and my local store says to bring in the item #, and then we will look and see what the cost is. Now I can go in educated at least.

Talk about Deja Vu all over again (Thanks Yogi) I just printed out the punch page from the online Weaver catalog this morning. The online version does not have prices. They are sticklers about not selling to a guy without a resellers license too! Dumb me, I never thought about an oval punch for belts. I was looking for some narrow jaw nippers to cut the copper rivets in between the two mag pouches. I would rather rivet that sew.

I've been cutting off the rivets I can't reach with my normal end cutter using the green handled lacing nipper Tandy sells. I'm sure I'm going to wear it out, but it's doing a better job than anything else I have. Finding nippers narrow enough to fit in that groove is proving to be a challenge. I drew a blank at Harbor Freight yesterday; same with Home Depot and Lowes. I can't even see anything on line that looks narrow.

Oregon Leather will order Weaver Master tools for me, and I wondered how much they wanted for that centering jig. I'm willing to bet someone on the forum has come with their own homemade version that works just as well.

Robby, I picked up some tubular rivets and a star rivet setter (Hidecrafter) yesterday, and they appear to be a good quality. I think I still have your address, so I thought I might stick a few in the mail to see what you think. I tried them this morning, and other than being a little rough to the touch after being set they sure hold well.

I ordered a copper rivet setter from Bob Douglas yesterday (there goes 1000 bullets).I might have a little less ammo for a bit, but my copper rivets ought to look good!

I know what you mean about the prices of quality stuff now days.  You just going to need to up your prices also!  Next time you have the camera handy please snap a shot of the new rivet setter for me.  Sometimes the greatest challenge is figuring out workable construction methods for our projects.  Im still waiting for someone to develop a blind sewing machine, one that you can sew from the top and not stitch through to the bottom!!!  "Machine, only sew through two top layers, begin".

They say this tubular rivet setter is from Hidecrafter. There is nothing written on it, but I have no reason to doubt it, because they sell Osborne and Hidecrafter tools. Their rivets seem super sturdy, and I bough 50 of each prepackaged from 4/16 through 8/16 for $3.50 per package.

They are way cheaper per unit if you buy 1000, but I wasn't sure about the length. 1 pound of #12 1 inch copper rivets & burs goes for 16 dollars. I'm not sure how those prices compare with other places, but this is the only local place that stocks these items.

JD, that does look like the rivet I use.  I will try to get a photo back showing the heavy duty weaver setter that Weaver sells.  I will give you my understanding of the hearsay Dalton,  At one time Heritage was more a stand alone company run by Quakers???   In the end Weaver got the rights to the name and the product line and now offers a somewhat reduced inventory of their products.  I think the same people are now working for them as independent manufacturers.  Probably wrong BUT it sounds good!

I can not make any promises but if things do not work out on your end contact me.  I have gotten the impression that I may be getting the boot due to not meeting minimums for the last few years.  Seems no one can take a joke anymore!! ;D ;D

I can't imagine what the rivets you are using look like. These look just like the ones in the weaver catalog, and when I do a Google search for tubular rivets, that's what all all the pitcures show.

Does the setter look like what you use? The Weaver catalog shows a Heritage setter for Simplex rivets, but it doesn't show a good picture of it, and I can't find any simplex rivets.

The ones I bought from Oregon Leather they use for leather and nylon halters, dog collars and the like. They really lock down the leather.
