This is nothing fancy.  It's just basic CAS gear.  I've never had a customer request one of my canvas shotgun belts with leather 2 shell pouches.  It involved a lot of hand sewing because I use double thickness canvas strap to hide the stitches

Looking good TN Mongo, nicely done pard, that belt should work out just dandy, I need to make a Quigley  belt, I have the webbing, just haven't got around to it yet, thanks for sharing. ::) :o 8) ;D

I like the belt a lot!  It is unusual seems to be very functional.

So the billet and chape ends of the belt are essentially a "lined" belt that encapsulates the ends of the canvas webbing?

Great work!

Way cool Mongo! Is the webbing very hard to work with? It looks like it is a very versatile material.

You are correct Chaa.

Amin, canvas belts are pretty popular around her because of the heat.  I really like working with canvas.  I can do canvas loops on a lighter weight sewing machine or with my leather sewing machine.  The canvas belts I have made have been pretty durable.

I'm attaching a picture of the pattern for the shotgun pouches for the belt as requested by some members on PMs.  Let me know if you can't read the dimensions.  Tio Don was the customer.

Mongo, thanks a whole bunch for this, it's very generous of you. As far as I can see you sew each piece on one at a time rather than say rivets. DO you sew the bottom on, then turn it up and sew the rest? Could you tell us what weight leather you are using?

My eyes aren't a sharp as they once were (whose are?) so I couldn't tell from the pictures what you were doing there.

I'll have to check the dimensions but this looks very much Like Slowhand Bob's method, but he rivets his on leather.

Either way works, and both look great to be.

Thanks again, JD

JD,

I fold the pouch into shape by wetting it at the lines I want to fold it at.  I don't crease the sides of the pouch.  I just kind of curve them in while they're wet.  I do crease the 1/2" side tabs.  Once the pouches are dry, I dye and apply finish to them.  I sew the back of the finished pouch on first and then I fold the side tabs to the belt and sew them on.

The leather weight of the pouches is 3-4 oz.

I hope this helps.
