Laurona EI Shotgun

I'm looking for a second SXS shotgun and found a Laurona EI (Spain, Sears & Roebuck) at a local pawn shop.  The barrell is a bit longer than the average coach gun, but the thing opens with a whisper and is very light weight.

The extractor is hourglass shape, along the lines of a Remmington Baikal.  Not the upside down T shape I'm used too with my current Bounty Hunter.  But the extractor doesn't go all the way around the top either.

They said I can bring a couple of dummy rounds and practice with it.

Anyone know anything about these guns?

The pawn shop is asking $500 for it, and I'll probably be able to talk them down some, but not as far down as the price of a new Stoeger.

Opinions?

Thanks,

You can also buy a new TTN (from Cimarron, EMF, Taylors, etc.) for about $450.  And they are very tough shotguns as well as being a good reproduction of the 1878 Colt design.

I went back to the Pawn Shop this evening, and was told I could have the shotgun for $400 out the door. I got a lot more interested in the gun, until I remembered the ding on the outside of the barrel.

So I cracked her open and took a long hard look. Sure enough, that ding went all the way through. A shallow bump on the inside of the barrel.   :o

I'm not sure what that would do the the accuraccy of the shotgun, but it caused me to walk away from an otherwise beautiful SXS.   :'(

I've looked at the TTN's.

I'd really rather have internal hammers.
