Tell Me About Yer Mug

Several years back over on the SASS wire there was a question about coffee mugs. It ended up being a pretty interesting read.
I'll start it off. I got two that I really like. My favorite is blue glass with the SASS marshal etched on it. SASS used to sell them, but alas, not any more. I use the SASS blue glass mug when I brew up a pot, (percolated), of special coffee.
My other is a white bone china mug that was apparently sold by Savage Firearms Co. at one time. I don't know how old it is as it was a gift from a friend years ago. I like to use that one just for drinking instant coffee. It's got the Savaged Indian head on it and says "Savage" just below it. I wonder if Savage still sells these mugs? Maybe a visit to their web site is in order.

So tell me... what is your favorite coffee mug like? Why is it special to you?

Danny, I am glad you said your mug. If it was favorite mug, I would have to say it is my Dammit Gang mug, which is the size of a stein. It would take near the whole pot to fill it if I were to drink coffee from it.

I have a mug that I won at a shoot on a raffle or something. It is a SASS mug with a simulated bullet hole through it. It has the hole all the way through it and the capacity of the mug is about half of it's size. Silly, but what the hell.

The mug I grab first from the shelf is actually a Harley mug. I often wonder if I am killin' myself with it, since it says made in china right on the bottom and I use it in the microwave too. So much for the all American Harley and all.

Now, one I have on the shelf that is real special says Visalia Coffee Co on it and it is special because it was given to me in a super basket with coffee by none other than our pard Gun Click Rick.

For me, my wife got me a few Wolf mugs several years ago, which I use daily, usually the same two, I just swap them out.

My favorite mug is a glass,i drink coffee like i'm drinkin water,got in that habit years ago from drivin truck and havin to be in a hurry.Just hot enough to chug and bottoms up,if i went in a store and got coffee that was to hot,put a bit of ice from the soda machine in it and down the hatch...Go to the counter and say two cups coffee...The cashier just look and say,where??? Oh i drank them already just need to pay for them...

Go back out do my walk around and hit the road..In fact just had a glass from Visalia Coffee Co.

But really my favorite mug had been right next to me forever right here.It's an ugly mug with a face on it my duaghter made when she was five,i have my ink pens in it,i think it's the only thing she ever made me,she is 32 now..i would say it's an expensive piece of American folk art now

First off i do not drink coffee. but I love decaf tea.. green that is... lol.. And rootbeer, but just the decaf ones.. But my favorite mug is one that I bought becauase of Slickees on SASS.. it is a huge mug, it has TDSC on it.. rotfl.. Town Drunk Social Club.. I think Cousin Slickee took pity on my low tolerance to drinking and let me join his little club.. lol.. Nice to have a cousin, and a two twin brothers over on SASS . lo.. Okay the are all fake, but fun.. my mug is huge, and I bought it more for my Dad who is 90. But they just told him to cut out the coffee.. so I guess I will just keep it am smile when I see it.. The cup is so cute.. but huge, i could take a bath in it.. lol.. Okay just kidding..

I have two that see regular use, The first is a hand made, handle less one that I purchased at a craft fair in college. It has done many a gallon and still going strong. The other one dissappeared after the Ambush in June and I am still searching for, a stainless 20 oz. tumbler with lid that would go everywhere with me. If you see a SS tumbler from Four-bucks with a RMEF, a USPSA and SASS Stickers on it, please send it home.

At work I was given one of those thermo looking bottles, not a mug.. I don't use it I think it smells like aluminun.. lol But I will keep my eyes open for a stainless tumber for you in MO.. lol.. Doubt it will turn up here.. but you never know..

Howdy Doodey... I have one of the bullet hole SASS mugs too. I got it at the same time I got the blue glass SASS mug, but I never used the bullet hole mug. I couldn't see how to get a spoon in there to stir in the cream and sugar.

The bullet hole mug just sits on display on my CAS shelf.

Mine Aren't Anything too special, gotta start making more of a collection, but i have about four Double-walled Stainless Steel Cups with a thin, strip of metal for a handle, They Look Alot Like the ones they'd carry on a Cattle Drive, Why i like them. Then i have a good 25 oz. Porcelain/some kind of material From Starbucks, White with a Red Trim, but if i'm not in the shop where they and the pot are, i just drink Folgers instant, Less Work For a Cup of Coffee.

All I've got is a "Gunfight Behing the Jersey Lilly" that I got at that match in 2003. It sits on the kitchenette shelf in my "workshop". . . for use . . . I've got whutever was at the thrift shops for 50 cents each.

Yep . . she licks it every chance she gets . . . probably would keep licking till my beard was licked off if I'd letter keep on with it

I have one to, but the handle is holow so it get super hot.
Mostly i use a blue "Smith&Wesson" mug for my coffee.

When I go to a match I take a blue ceramic mug that holds 24 oz for drinking hot or cold stuff in camp. I have an antique enamel ware cup that holds 32 oz that I take to the range to drink water from. At home I use Aladdin plastic mugs - 34 0z -from the local convenience store. Keep it full of tea. White peach flavoured tea from the store and sunless tea that I make with barely warm water, tea bags in a gallon tea jug in the fridge! You don't need any sun. Cold water will work if you are not in a hurry. I usually am in a hurry so I mix a bit of warm with the cold and it brews faster. Without the sun, the tannic acid is very low and the tea is smooth! I usually use a mint tea bag and a Luzianne large tea bag! Good when I'm out in the sun!

Green tea is great hot or cold.. Decaf is best so I can slow down and actaully walk on the ground like normal people do.. lol.. But water is my favorite.. ice water..................... from the tap, want to make sure I get all the chemicals from our fine part of the country.. All those farm chemicals help you emit a glow so you can night shoot.. lol.. okay I made that up..
