Very interesting. It's almost a different language, but still readable.

I'll give it more attention when I have some time.

Thanks for a peek into the past.

I almost forgot this one. That's OK as I just read about a study stating that ihe incidence of dementia is down 44% in North America.

Sir Charles,

Very interesting.

I worked at Jamestown Settlement Park in VA. for a number of years.
We had a Domestic Arts Specialist that worked very hard at finding cooking receipt for Native American foods from the period. Most of these food items were unknown to the English, so the English had to learn the Native American ways of cooking such items.
I am sure this Domestic Arts Specialist knew of this Cook Book.
However, in this new world of new food sources, much of what the English were familiar with had to be substituted for what was obtained locally.
By 1611, the time period we represented for the Jamestown Settlement, the diet of the Colonist had improved. Much thanks to the efforts of the local Indians.
My best,
Blair

I actually have a reprint of this book! We had a 3 day Medieval wedding, and got it as a guide to the meals. We didn't use a whole lot of the recipes, but it did help us plan it more authentically. You want to talk about odd eats? This is chock full of oddities!

I'm not going to tear my shed apart to find the book, but you have chosen some tame examples there ;)

Those were the first listing. All I needed to see was Chicken and Bacon and I knew it was the book for me!
