Categories!  We need categories for the PeePee Dance Off.  May I suggest Traditional and Freestyle to start with. Also an Originals class, with proper documentation, of course.  You might purse additional sponsorships from Aquafina and Desani.

Major Matt Lewis

I think that Rattlesnake did the documentation for us all.  If this year's Pee Pee Dance-Off takes off, than who knows what next year may bring as far as catagories....The winner will have to come back to defend the title....

I thought "Originals" had to be done with real ale and bitters; while "Traditional" was just regular beer.  Modern had to be done with Desani, Aquafina, and similar ammunition.

Gotta go.....

You can never be too thin, too rich or have too much ammo

Kayleen

Lou,
I am going to offer you an undergament for the Pee-pee dance that the will help you out. I promise it will have buttons on. when I get down there. Not to mention you will win hands down.
See you there.
No, guys, it will not fit anyone of you.

Oh, yeah, don't forget DEPENDS, I understand they are big into sponsorships off this type! Another company is SUPPORT PLUS, they have all the goodies including 'Traditional', 'Modern' and 'Original', including some attachments with flannel for those cool Fall nights. BTW, don't forget to add a 'Pull Ups' class for the younger crowd.
Best regards and good, ah, geez, I'd better quit while I'm ahead...

Major Lewis and Pee Pee Dancers,

Are all these Pee Pee dancers gonna need music to dance to? Should those of us that are providing live music offer up a small selection of possibly suitable Pee Pee dance tunes? There seems to be a harmonica, a banjo and my nyckelharpa -- any others?

I can offer a simple, very rythmic schottis, commonly called Idioten (the Idiot) in Swedish, a simple waltz named Bonden I Paradis (farmer in paradise -- this IS folk music!!), or a very simple and rythmic springvals (often called running waltz) named Friarvisan (the Courting Song). All are very traditional tunes. I am quite sure that no one has ever adapted a Pee Pee dance to any of them, so, a real chance for .........................

Lars

PS: Like Delmonico, I will  request that the Pee Pee dancers maintain a safe distance when dancing.

Major Matt Lewis

Lars,

That's an excellent idea.  I think though that the music should be fast paced for some reason..... ;)

OK, Major Lewis, that brings us down to Idioten and Friarvisan. Both can be played quite fast. Idioten is in 2/4 time and Friarvisan is in 3/4 time.

Of course, Bonden I Paradis can be played slowly for any dancers in the Elder class, vvveeeerrrrryyyy slowly if needed.

I am sure that the banjo and harmonica players will have some good, fast tunes too.

Idioten gets my vote just on the name alone..... ;D

Idioten really does seem a very fitting choice!!

Wander over to the Barracks - the Grand Army of the Frontier (GAF) HQ - and check out the postings from Maj Lewis on ammo requirements and other aspects of the GAF Muster.

He sometimes posts both there and here, but sometimes there is information on one forum or the other taht doesn't make it on both.

Guns Garrett

I don't recall the composer, but wasn't there a famous one who wrote a concerto or something entitled "Water Music"?
"Stand, gentlemen; he served on Samar"

Ol Gabe

G.G. hit it right on the head, so to speak,
George Frideric (yes, that is really, truly how it is spelled!) Handel, 1685-1759, wrote THE WATER MUSIC and MUSIC FOR THE ROYAL FIREWORKS to be played outside, at night when the festivities included fireworks and at the grand opening of Royal Gardens and Fountains, etc. Water fountains were used as a form of 'entertainment' and were positioned in the Royal Gardens such as to garner a view from several angles pleasing to the eye. Music was a natural to add to the overall enjoyment and Handel was commissioned to write a series of suites and concerti for various functions, his two main works listed above are the ones we associate today with that type of performance.
Now, with that in mind, a Chamber Orchestra playing one or both on-site would jist be the Cats Meow for the Official Pee Pee Dance, of course, the Idioten would be my first choice as it really has more to offer in the total package what with its conceptualization, etc., it isreally more fitting for what will transpire, er, happen, maybe, or not.
Perhaps M.M. should get in touch with P.D.Q. Bach's colaborator Peter Schickele via NPR and see what he may have to offer, his music is generally right up that alley.
Best regards and good listening!
