A year or so ago I posted a thread on a set of Pedersoli Charles Moore English Flintlock Dueling pistols I had and my desire to build a Walnut Presentation Box for them.  I had made a Pine Proto-type to get sizing etc.  Well I finally finished the box and a few photos of the final project are enclosed.  The Top showing the graining of the 100 year old walnut that has been stored in my Dad's hayloft since the early part of the 20th Century one of the rear showing the hinges and the blind dovetail joints one of the front showing the lock estucheon that I inletted for the key and lastly one showing the lining that I just finished yesterday (green worsted wool baize that I got from the local Billard/Snooker dealer)

I had found a photo of one cased set of Charles Moores, and tried to copy it to some extent.  I'll make walnt lids for the square partitions in the corners.

Oh, when the finish (8 coats of tung oil/varnish) dries a few more weeks, I'll knock some of the shine off with some steel wool and a bit of wax to give it a little more of a satin lustre...

Hi Rick, yes black walnut, and I got the baize(green wool felt) from the local billard company.  He builds some tables and this was a piece of new take off, I guess someone wanted a color rather than green.  Lucky me.. :)
