Headspacing problems

It seems on the 'problems' board there is often a question arising about excess headspace with these cartridges that headspace on the rim. Wouldnt most of the problems be solved after first firings if one were to only resize the first 1/4" of the neck insteadof full length resizing? As long as the case is fired in the same gun, it should chamber just fine, and be held against the bolt face by not only the rim, but the shoulder as well. Would this be an easy cure for a few thousandths excess headspace? ???

IMO, yep. Of course you could have a gunsmith check the actual chamber dimensions, if it's off much see if the factory will fix it. Marlin recut my chamber, .38-55, for free.
