Interesting shell vest, never seen one like that before, shells appear to be paper ones.  Also photo appears to be reversed.

Steve, I know you don't write the captions but his "rifle" appears to be a Remington Model 1894 double barrel shotgun.  It was the first hammerless shotgun made by them.  Some even came with ejectors, but don't tell SASS.    After a closer look there may be hammers there.
