I am wondering if USFA offers a factory action job, such as offered by Freedom Arms.  I have sent off an e-mail to Gary Granger, but have not yet received a reply. I had a 3 pound action job done on my FA Model 83, and it made the revolver soo much better. My Ainsworth is currently at the factory having some issues worked out, and it would convenient to just have an action job done while it is there.

I 've never heard of them offering action jobs, but that doesn't mean that they don't. ???

Jim Finch at Long Hunter performs USFA factory approved action jobs that are truly outstanding.  His action work will not affect the USFA lifetime warranty either.  Jim Finch is also a great person to work with and is very knowledgeable about all details of USFA hand guns.  He is also a major USFA dealer and if you purchase a USFA model from him, generally it will include a full action job in the price as a very nice fringe benefit.

i agree 100%!

to double verify what jdpress said: a month ago i was talking to gary granger of USFA and specifically asked him if the action package that LHSS offers effects the factory warranty. gary stated that it doesn't effect the warranty at all and that jim does excellent work.

and i love the work that LHSS did on my USFA Storekeeper. First Class all the way. in the future, i plan to send any more SAA i buy directly to jim.

Firearms company's don't like doing action jobs for the simple reasons of liability, as posted above, Long Hunter has a good rep., and there are others that do great work also, Freedom Arms is/are more of a custom gun operation, they have been from the beginning, and there list of services is quite long, you can order you gun just the way you want it, so to speak.

I got a slightly different story from USFA.  Opening the rear sight, relieving the hammer and cutting the forcing cone (though USFA says their forcing cone is already 11 degrees) will not affect the warranty.  However, messing around with the trigger and sears will.   I think USFAs leave the factory with about a 3 1/2 pound trigger.  You might want to confirm all the above.

I believe the "China Camp" gun that they offered awhile back had an action job but not sure if it was done in house or farmed out.
