I want to attend, but will have to see how things shake out. In November I am scheduled to work days. So to attend the match, I will have to take 2 weeks vacation. The vacation isn't the issue, I have 300 hours available. Basically I have to get one of my counterparts to swap shifts for 2 weeks. so I can take the vacation.  My supervisor isn't the most responsive, I can apply for the vacation now, but it won't be until September or October until it is approved.

I have been planning to to attend since the last Grand Muster - and drive out so I could transport the necessary firearms (and do some essential sightseeing on the way).  Flying is too much hassle anymore, with or without firearms.

However, it looks like I'll FINALLY be retiring about 6 weeks later and need to keep what little leave time I have so I can sell it back.  But if that changes I'll let you know.

Howdy Pards,

We are putting together the match info and are thinking about having a side match using Cap & Ball Revolvers.  Would you like a 3 - Stage Side Match using the C&B where you load two pistols and cap the second one on the clock or include the C&B Class in the Long Range Pistol competition.  Your input is appreciated.

My capping sux and is very slow but It still sounds like fun.  Just not the capping on the clock part.  How about jsut starting with both loaded and cappede?  Could throw in a shot or two with a muzzle loading rifle with it.  Oh and how about a kife throw or jab.  And.............

From the Grand Army of the Frontier Muster Guide:

"GAF PISTOL GUIDELINES:"...
..."Cap-and-ball revolver shooters may use more than one pre-loaded but uncapped revolver or cylinder for reloads during the stage, but these revolvers or cylinders must be capped on the clock."

That is the rules for the Main Match, correct?  Can't we do what we want in a Side Match?

You could use that argument.

I don't have the final say. I'd address the question to the General and Col. Drydock.

Side matchs, other than the EEM, are at the match directors discretion.  And local conditions/regulations must always be accomdated where possible.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

I just tought that if your doing a Cap-n-Ball only match, having two all ready to go wouuld expidite things a bit.  It would be better for any green solders unfaliliar with all the intricacies of the cap-n-ball revolver (me) if the loading, including the capping could be done before the pressure of the "clock" starts.
