Bayonet safety! Take heed!

Hello!
    If you decide to shoot your Krag with the bayonet attached, make sure it seats all the way and locks completely!  I was shooting mine at our monthly cowboy shoot today, and forgot that because of some rust in the bayonet lug slot, it needed to be seated pretty firmly to fully lock.  After about the fourth shot, the bayonet came off.  Unfortunately, a bullet hit the barrel ring of the bayonet and pretty much ruined it.  (That shot was a miss, by the way!)  Make sure the bayonet is locked completely so this doesn't happen to you!

As a blacksmith I think that can be straightened. A little heat and a little pressure and it should go back into place.
