I'm going to share my 1894 with my niece at a match tomorrow. She's just going to shoot 1-2 stages. Any problems with her shooting smokeless and me shooting BP through the same guns.

Depends on several issues.  Is your lube compatible?  Is your bp Genuine, or sub/replica?

Go ahead and do it! In some cases the clean up becomes a problem but it would be worth it to get the girl shooting.

If you're shooting genuine BP or Pyrodex then I'd recommend squirting the barrel with Ballistol and pulling a bore snake through it before shooting the smokeless, then again after shooting the smokeless.

Just give the barrel a little scrub when going from one to the other, things should be alright. But be sure and clean it up good afterwards.

Out of curiosity, is there a specific reason ya'll are shooting different bullets?

Like Ranch has pointed out, if you don't clean between shooting these different powders, the barrel will get crudded up real quick, and your accuracy will go in the dumper.

I'm shooting Trail Boss and Pinnacle with Snakebite Greasewagon or a Lee Tumble Lube bullet:. I have some choices. Some of the TB rounds were tumble lubed or lubed with a 50/50 soy wax & lard.

With my accuracy I may end up missing less with the barrel "crudded up"

My niece is a very new shooter so its smokeless for her for a little bit.

I do have a tendency to lump BP subs and BP together. I went in on 2 cases with a couple of guys and Pinnacle is what they wanted. As soon as I can shoot this up I'm going to straight BP.

The weather is supposed to be real cool this morning and since my niece was bringing her 6 y/o daughter we decided to  postpone until next month. I want to do everything I can to make this a pleasant experience for both, particularly my grand niece. A guy was bringing a SW M & P 15-22 and I was hoping she would shoot that. Oh well, next month.
