Where's my ammo?

I had BAGS of Snakebites all loaded up.  So many, I had run out of boxes and waz puttin' 'em in bags.

I'm puttin' my kit together for Heluva Ruckas this weekend.  I got up on the top ammo shelf and pulled down boxes of 30-30 and 45-70 and behind them, the bags and there's several 12 ga. shotgun and 44-40.  No Snakebites.

I checked the other shelf.  Boxes of Warthog and Mousehog .45's.  About 700 rounds of smokeless leftover from winter. .45ACP for my 1911, 16 ga. shotgun.  One part box of Snakebites.  I get that sinking feeling.

I checked the gargage.  One part box left in the cart.

I checked the living room.  One part box under my chair. (don't ask)

It's at least 120 degrees in the ammo mine right now and the Dillon is set up for .45.  GRRRRRRR.  The whole dang thing has to come apart to swap over to .38.  I added up the part boxes and it's enough for the revolvers.  I'm gonna use the .45 rifle and the Mousehogs.  As much as I hate using two sizes of ammo, I ain't going to spend any more than 5 minutes in that ammo mine.  It's so hot, the lube would melt off before I got 'em loaded.  If this heat wave don't break, heck, I may melt.

What happened to them, Lou? Did the elves sneak into the house and hide them, or did you shoot them all up?

I remember calculating about March there was enough made up to take me to the end of June/early July time frame.  A lot of our shoots got rained out this spring.  I've shot the 44-40's at a bunch of the matches.  It should have lasted a lot longer.

I have gone to the new, better local gun club we joined this spring quite a bit to practice/test/try things.  Guess that must be where all the ammo went.  It's nice to be able to shoot without having anybody give me a hard time about "rapid fire" from a SAA.  One man did just stand and look for so long, I asked him if he was OK.  He says, "I never saw a lady shoot like that before.  I wish my daughter was with me."
Once the guns are dirty, I have a tendancy to think  "may as well keep shooting, got to clean 'em anyway" ;)  Guess my ammo calculation was based on matches only, not being able to practice, too.

Lou, don't feel too bad nor lose too much sleep; I "lose" ammo all the time.  Comes with getting past 39.

Well there's yer problem!  Practice!!  A waste of good ammunition ;D :D

I had a castin party at DD's the other day with my brother Rotten Redeye and we cast up about 1500 Mavs.  I could probably send ya a hundert if it would get ya though the weekend.
