Ouch! I just figured out that I can't run my new tandy stitch groover left handed, worth a dang!  :o

Yes, sadly I am a Lefty and I am guessing it's gonna be a tough process to learn to run a few righty tools!! I can use a shears right handed.. and other stuff... but for fine dexterity, like groovin' without trackin all across god's creation, won't be easy!!

Is there any Leather Tool makers who make Southpaw friendly tools?

I don't know what the fuss is all about, I'm a lefty too, just put the cutter on the other side, works for me, I couldn't use this thing right handed if I wanted too.

::)  I think you must be a messin with my mind Pard! The way these are made, you can't just turn em around! The only way i "may" be able to use mine in the left hand is if I pushed it instead of pulled it towards me. That doesn't give the control I'd like though. I'll have to see how it works out.

thanks to your post and me being left handed ::)
daddurn it I had to go look at my tandy groover and use it on scrap leather. :-[ :-[

i can use it left handed but i have to start the groover on the right side of the leather and pull it. cant start it on left side of leather. cant even start it on left side of leather using right hand the cutter is setup to cut on right side of leather.

Maybe I didn't understand you right, as Knucklehead said, I do it the same way.  I hold the stitch groover in my left hand, but always cut from the right side of my work, I pull the groover through, I never push .

                               Sorry for the misunderstanding

Bob Douglas sells a goover that I believe you can switch to eaither side. It's a spendy tool though. He doesn't have a web site, so you need to call, and probably leave a message if you are interested. Bob and his wife travel a lot to leather trade shows.

TW, took minute but I see how you use it left handed.  You control the leather with your right hand crossed over your left, but you still start on the right side.

WC, I'll have to check that out, although I have mastered this right hand groover using my left hand, but it would be nice to use a groover the way it was meant to be used.

WC, I just checked out CS Osborn, and couldn't fined anything like a double sided stitch groover, I couldn't even find a stitch groover of any kind, if you have the link let me know.

Howdy TW
It's their Saddlers Compass. It comes with 3 different size groovers and a point leg.
