Last year on the 23rd of May, a Sunday, I had a couple in the store from Cally-fornia.  They were in town for a wedding and were still shaking, they couldn't get over the fact an F-4 tore-nader and cut a 50 mile by 2 mile path just south of Lincoln.  I told them I could have been worse, the ground hadn't shook.  They looked at me funny and then we laughed, guess it's what yer used to.

We did not feel the quake here on the eastern cost of North Carolina. However, since we live due south of Washington DC, we don't pay much attention to "earth shakin", especially when Congress is in session.    ::)  RIO

I was in Huntington Beach for the cleanup after Northridge. One night I woke up as my bed was dancing on the floor. It was a 5.0 aftershock.

I was at the SD Convention Center when it hit.  I was standing outside one of the meeting rooms when the meeting was over.   I thought the shaking was due to the large amount of people walking out of the room.  I found out a couple of minutes later that it was a quake.  There were a lot of scared people walking around the Convention Center.  Many people were from other countries or states had never experienced a quake before and didn't know what to expect.  I told them that it was just a baby quake, nothing to worry about.  I was told that a group of Japanese who were in the Marriott started running for the doors.

I lived in Japan for 3 years and that country never stops "shaking".  The 3 story brick building I lived in was built to "move" with the quakes.  One morning we awoke and the building had moved 2 feet during a quake.  There was a 2 foot gap between the front steps and the sidewalk.  The engineers laid new cement to repair the sidewalk but the next night we had another "quake" and the building moved back leaving the door blocked with chunks of cement.  Lots of fun!!  MISS SCARLETT

The father-in-law said he didn't feel a thing & he lives in Harbison Canyon.  I couldn't imagine him not feelin' that there?
