i still need lots more practice with the swivel knife.  ;)
still have a little problem with following the tacing lines on the border area around the animal.

but overall i think for the first time doing animal carving it came out looking pretty good. ;)

Nice job. Great that your taking classes from one of the many Masters. Learning from their knowledge is well worth taking a class. I took one from Jim back when I lived in OK.

You did a great job Kuncklehead. I wrote the wrong date down for the class. I though it was the following week, I flat blew it. I really wanted to work on Western floral carving. I did learn some new tips while taking Bobby Rose's Holster class a couple of weeks ago.

thanks all.

taking classes is the best way to learn how to do stuff.
classes also force me to do carvings that i would normaly shy away from, kinda breaks the ice for me.

JD, yep you missed a good class  but no worries it happens to everyone once in awhile.

as far as tools go im not sure, i got the figure carving bevelers from tandy the day of the class.

the background around the coyote/wolf is the pebbler from hidecrafter borrowed from a fellow classmate. gotta get me one.

i used the tandy pebbler on the project around all the tooling to break it up.
the geometric design is a hackbarth tool i bought 7 years ago and hadnt used it till now.
