Hi all, I've been lurking for a while and just ordered a model P Jr thanks to reading some archived threads here - so thanks  ;D

Here's a couple questions I could not find a real answer to (here and on other sites).

- What size holsters will work for this gun?

- I have an extra full size cap and ball flap holster. If that will work (without the whole gun falling into it)  ::) , I'll just cut off the excess leather since I don't need to have an extra 5" of leather slapping my leg since the barrel is only 3 1/2".
Does anyone know if it will fit alright?

Thanks
Bob

Good question, I'm about to buy this gun too.

I think the flap holster is going to be a bit too big. I know my holster with the 1858 fits like a glove, but my 1851 falls down deep into it almost to the point you can't get it out.  ;D

I might go to Cabelas and try to put a display p jr or lightening into their flap Colt holster instead of the Remington. It's likely to fit tighter. Other than that, it looks like a custom job.

BTW, I was told by Triple K that their sportsman's flap holster might work with the 1873 fitting. Their exact words were "it's worth a shot"  ::) ;D

They weren't for sure

Bingo  ;D

For the P jr or Stallion, they recommend a single six holster.

Yep, a single six or 1851s will work. I bought a pair of 1851 holsters for Heather but, she still uses her full size Longhunter rig. :) Go figure ;)

The ones I make for my wifes 3 1/2" Jrs are based on the 51 Navy in size. They work very well, and are snug but not tight..
