Check out this super cool boot knife and sheath I received from my friend Ned Buckshot. Pictures do not do this justice. There is so much precision craftmanship in the knife and the sheath it blows me away.

It came in the mail Saturday, just in time for me to show it off at church this morning. We've got a half dozen or so CAS pards attending our church now, and they all were amazed at the quality of workmanship displayed in Ned's work.

Everyone who closely examined the sheath was amazed at the braiding. It's not like anything I've ever seen. Ned did a great job with that sheath. I understand the leather a little bit, but making the knife is so far out of my skill set I don't even know what to say. The handle is pre-ban elephant ivory, and just too cool. This baby is sharp enough to shave with; it's definitely a pig sticker.

Ned, you are awesome! Thank you my brother, JD.

That's a beauty JD, Ned did you well on this one, but then all his work is top notch.

You are correct about his work being top notch 10 Wolves. He made me a real good bowie type knife with a handle made from a chunk elk antler I sent him. He also mounted an 1839 copper coin I had on the butt end.

I didn't think to ask him what style of lacing he used, but I can tell you that the picture doesn't begin to do it justice.

That knife and sheath are out of the box. I really like the heart cut-out. Very, very nice. Ned did you well with this one.

I'm so happy you like it JD! Made just for you from start to finish.

The braiding is really much easier than it looks, just one lace wraped back around itself over and over. I'll send you instructions on how to do it. Probably not today as I'll be at the Doctors most of it.

Thanks TW and Marshall for your kind comments.

It hasn't been out of my sight since Saturday. I only wish I had checked the mail before I went to the range to shoot Saturday. Oh well, now I have something to look forward to show my friends in the club. We have a great bunch of guys n gals to shoot with. the website is designed n maintained by one of our own.

Farmer to be perfectly clear about the knife I buy that style blade in a semi finished state and do the final finish and the handles.

Still plenty of challenge but don't want to take credit for something I didn't do.

This knife is so sharp you could shave with it while its still in the scabbard ;D

Seriously thie edge on this thing is something else, and the handle, even under a magnifier looks incredible

WC it is definitely a keeper. I showed it to my son and said one day this will be yours. Remember it was made by a great guy just for your dad, and take real good care of it when the time comes. He hates for me to talk that way, but some stories just need telling.

GB we work real hard at our prop design, and try to make sure the people who come out to shoot with us have a good Time. I will pass on the compliments to Dawg and Loden.

still pretty dang amazing to me! I'm trying to do a stag handle knife for a buddy of mine who hunted with me this year. I killed a nice buck,..and I'm using the antler bases. I did one,...but man,..how in the heck do you solder a brass guard to the tang?!?!??!?1 I tried,..w/ no success. Finally I just used the "2ton" expoxy when I set the handle in to also secure the guard. I had a lil propane torch,......but it never seemed to heat everything hot enough,......couldnt get silver solder to hold. Any thoughts?
