Howdy Pards,

I am about to send off some artwork for embossing stamps (to be used with a press or a vice) for military "US" and "CS" stamps.  They will be made of Delrin.  If anyone else is interested in these types of plates let me know...maybe we can get a quantity discount.  I will advise what the cost will be...I was considering two sizes of stamps.

Let me know a price, Outrider. I gotta run it by the boss if I go too extravagant on tools. How big are you thinking?

Outrider, a US stamp like that would interest me, if it's what I think you are talking about; US within a oval of sorts, like you would use on a keeper strap?

JD,

The embossing stamp is the insignia that you see on post-civil war (indian wars and later) military holsters and cartridge boxes.  It is the oval and measures approx. 2 7/8" x 1 7/8".  I am considering a smaller one as well to be used on magazing pouches, etc.

Since I already have a PHD (Pilled Higher and Deeper) in ignorance, can you tell me what CS stands for?

OUTRIDER

Can we have a look at your art work for the stamps?

Thanks Dave

This art work was done by Jim Simmons and was on the Leatherworkers Forum.  So the credit for the art work is for him

Jim Simmons is a good Pard with some helpful material, at least IMO. I've talked with him several times, though not lately. He has a different take on some things, construction wise, but then why not?
