Sounds like you ought to join SASS and get the rule book. The revolver sights can/usually determine what catagory you'll shoot in.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Depends.....if you're going to shoot with a SASS club, adjustable would be ok for most, but not all categories.

If the club is an NCOWS club, I don't think adjustable are allowed there.

Don't know about W3G.

Modern adjustable revolver sights (ex:  Ruger Blackhawk) are legal in SASS.

For a sight to be legal in NCOWS, you will need to verify it's existance in the pre-1900 era.  A good example:  the Beretta Laramie.  This revolver is a reproduction of the S&W No.3 New Model which was available pre-1900 with drift adjustable rear sights.  The Beretta replica has these drift adjustable sights, so the NCOWS Congress has approved this revolver for use.  However, the Ruger Blackhawk has sights that have no provenance to a pre-1900 design . . . thus the Blackhawk is not approved for use in NCOWS.  You can use Ruger Vaqueros with fixed sights in NCOWS.
