Took the 58 revolving carbine to the range today.  Had some Winchester Cowboy loads to burn up.  I was veryhappy with the results. ;D

It's a R&D!

If you have a cartridge converter in it can you fire it like a rifle or do you still have to hold it funny?

These little suckers are wicked accurate in the cap and ball persuasion - as in sub 2 inch groups at 50 yards from mine and 2 others  that friends have had.  Mind you that's off a rest, and, as noted that works substantially better than shooting offhand with a modified "Weaver" stance (for lack of a better description) but it is a truly neat firearm.

It actually balances nicely with forward hand supporting shooting hand.  I plan on putting a 26" barrel on it at some point and that may change the balance a bit.

Since the danger of multible ignition is eliminated with cartridges (no caps or exposed powder in cylinders), I have no problem shooting mine either way with the Kirst converter in it.
