Just having some DTs left over from unhealthy experiences on the sASS wire. Taking a clue from my new, and seemingly unwilling, unknowing hero: GCR.

I've sworn to never go back there again. There seems to be no recent or decent information on gun modifications, parts, shooting techniques, etc. I also seem to have discovered that everyone else bailed about two or three years ago. I may be slow but I ain't ... Well I may be dumb too.

I'm a little concerned to see said named corporation on the cover of CASCITY. Hope that isn't an overly regular thing. Ready to request a refund on my life membership!

I'll try not to be so amusing in my posts! I hope some people around here have a sense of humor.

So anywhooo. Just glad to have a forum for intelligent conversations.

Welcome to Town , UNK

I was disgusted a few years ago..when several members bashed visitors calling them "Turds in the Toilet" among other unsavory statements, this had to do with the then newly revamped Classified rules.
That atmosphere was unfriendly to potential new comers....I have a number in the low 21XXX but never sprung for a life membership, I expect I never will.

Welcome to a friendlier wire Unk!  I left the "other wire" around 4 or 5 years ago and ain't looked back.  I don't miss it because all it was doing at that point was raising my blood pressure.  The trashing and bashing of newbies was the final straw for me.  I've been a life member of the organization since the early 90's.  I don't regret my life membership in the least.  Hell, I would have spent that much money on dues in 7 or 8 years anyway.  Besides, SASS is a lot different that the SASS Wire anyway.

Anywho... welcome to Cas City.  A much friendlier town.   8)

I used to be a member of SASS, until several friends and I came to the conclusion, the members of SASS, were consdered financial prey for the so-called wild bunch.

Why Heavens, William, did you know you said that out loud?

The beauty of this forum, My Dear Uncle, is that it is still a free country with freedom of speech, and on this forum (Thanks to our Good Marshal)  one can speak one's mind without fear of reprisals from the Mild Bunch (Wild only in their own minds).

We also don't generally take ourselves too seriously...

I dunno.  I find both CAS City and the SASS WIRE useful.  Sure, ya got some stuff to wade past and ignore (like the op-ed page in many newspapers) but there IS good info on the Wire.  Widowmaker Hill's recent Marlin mods is a good example of research reported in next to real time, right there on the mean ole wire.

SASS is a business and the wire is a marketing tool for that business. Un-orthodox opinions and critical comments are definately not welcome. Kinda like a western..... the town boss says: "Shut yer mouth er else".

I'm with Jack on this.  Different sources for different reasons.

I also go to Brimstone Pistoleros, Belle Alley, the leverguns site, and some others.  They all have their purposes and their quirks.  (I'm not talking about you, Rick.  ::) )
