Brownells is a lot cheaper on Wolfe springs and such for '60armies. They also sell top quality hardened screw 'sets' for Colt percussions revolvers.  Wolfe springs are as good as they get, better than the Colt factory ones,,, and a lot cheaper than the ones Colt is selling.

Judge,

Brownells gets their parts from VTI gunparts (mostly).  The 2d Gen 1860 was built from Uberti parts and finished to Colt specs.
I'd suggest you contact VTIgunparts.  As mentioned for Brownells, VTI also has hardened screw sets and all the springs and goodies for the Uberti and Pietta built copies.

Thanks for the help pard's the spring's from veriuse supplyers, but it is the screws that Iam worred about.
Dennis Adler's book say's they are colt spec not Itaian ,so Iam not sure what to get. As I like to have in my gun box a set of springs & a set of most screws as you know one will let you down when you dont want it to.

The Colt screw is a #8-36 thread, and has a .210 head.

The Italian screw has an M4x.7 thread, and a 5mm dia head.

The Italian screw will fit in a Colt, but the Colt screw thread is tight in the Italian frame, and the head won't fit in the C'sink of the Italian gripframe.

However, I measured the gripframe screws on my 2nd Gen 1851 Navy, and it is Colt sized, not metric.  That means the gripframe will accept Colt screws from 2nd gen or the SAA.

The Hammer, bolt and trigger screws are different than the SAA, and you will need those parts for the 2nd gen Colt, the Italian parts may not fit right, but I haven't ever tried to swap them with an Uberti.

I used Uberti "regulator" mainsprings in my cap & ball Colts, which are a bit shorter than the Colt SAA spring.  If you get the Colt spring from Wolff, you might have to shorten it a bit.  That is easier, though, than trying to stretch the short one.

Uberti or preferably Wolff SAA Colt rigger/bolt springs will fit.

All the internal Uberti cap & ball parts will fit the 2nd and 3rd gen cap & ball Colts; trigger, hand and bolt, and also the hammer and hand.

If you want spares, the Uberti cylinder also fits the 2nd and 3rd gen Colts, 1851, 61 and 60.

Thanks for all the info, but I forgot to ask what about nipples for these Colt's. Are .454 or .451 balls best to use.

I have replaced the trigger and bolt screws in my 1861 Colt (2nd gen) with screws from a Colt SAA set with perfect success. I think they came from Peacemaker Specialists about 10 years ago.

My reason for the switch was purely cosmetic as the factory 1861 screws were a bit long and stuck out on the left side more than I liked.
Also, I had fire blued the Colt screws as an experiment and liked the way they look in the 1861.

2nd Gens use Treso nipples for Uberti revolvers.  IIRC, Colt recommended ball size for 1860 was .454; but I'll check my files to make sure

Nope, I didn't recall correctly, just checked my files.  Colt recommended .457  dia round balls.

I'd measure all the cylinder chambers to dermine proper ball size.
Unless the biggest chamber diameter is OVER .453, I'd use .454 RB

Me.. I have a pile of Pietta and Uberti C&B and use many internal parts from Dixie Gun Works. I've used the same bolts as these on original Colt 1851 Navy as well. Threads & screw head size are some of the more delicate matters.

Spare hand springs are tops on my list, followed by hammer cams, and a spare bolt. haven't replaced a screw on a Colt replica yet (35+ years of use for some of these pistols).
