In 1947?  RPS hooked Lash LaRue up with Black Diamond, some costume changes and generally a overall of the Lash (Al) LaRue image, sorry Slim I didn't get this from Google. From the Lash LaRue website.

Now for The Rifleman, I know he had to ride a horse, I know his stunt double was Jim Burk, usually used in Horse scenes.  But seems all the shows I recall he was on foot, swingin that Win to cock it.

Black Diamond it was.

For The Rifleman I have Razor and Blue Boy.

Four-Eyed Buck

I didn't remember him on a horse either. Cap, no Goooogle here either, just an on again off again memory, better known as CRS. I do tend to remember most of the time what I read and have read some articles on Mix before. Just took awhile for the info to resurface. A raise would be nice though............Buck 8) ::) :o ;) ;D

I don't recall seeing him on a horse very often in that series, but do know he didn't travel exclusively in the buckboard.  Well now, he ain't mounted here either http://www.riflemanconnors.com/images/cc-razor.jpg, but he had his picture taken with Razor.  Also check out the following from http://www.magicdragon.com/WESTtv.html#tvR :

Four-Eyed Buck

Yep, yer right, Cap, one of those '92's was an El Tigre. They also had to get a special Fed. license for them because of the shortened barrels..............Buck 8) ::) ;)

Hey,  why don't you make it a "multiple choice" (4 or 5 options) quiz?  There's only about a zillion "breeds" out there, and while some of us city boys may be real horses' rear ends, we ain't had that much "horsin' around" experience.  :D

litl rooster

Capt. your right there are about Gazillion breeds out there most of which were found in the last 50 years, all outcrops from other breeds.  Champion, Koko, Topper, Black Diamond like most in the Silver screen era, were Tennessee Walking Horses, or crossbred from there.  What we call the cowhorses today Quarter's wer being developed in that era and the AQHA was formed. Most people when asked my question will answer the quarter horse.

I fear the one in front of Wal Mart is a wild mustang and should be approached with caution
Mathew 5.9

Capt. Hamp Cox

If I'd guessed it would have been quarter horse.  How 'bout definining "quarter horse"?

litl rooster

Capt. I don't know if I can honestly give the correct definition. I am sure if you asked 10 people to do the same , you would get 10 answers. My dad always said it was because they were bed to run the 1/4 mile, or short distances fast. Micheal Martin Murphy's song Quarter Horse Rider gives a pretty good defintion. AQHA does have a good website. Which I general use to background my prospects.  Then on the lighter side find a Maryland? quarter and turn it over. ;D<):)

Four-Eyed Buck

Yeah, those Wal-Mart ones can be pretty wild. Best buckle yer seat belt with those.......Buck 8) ::) ;)
