Well tonite I sturred up a batch of my sourdough cinnimon rolls. I don't make them often enough, so I forget how every 10 years, so I have to do this more often.

Wifey came into the kitchen after tasting the cinnimon fill and I lifted the towel, and she said WOW they look like real rolls..
in the morning I will bake them and stur up my own cream cheeze/powdered sugar topping, and we are gonna feast on strawberries and cinnimon rolls..

just wanted to make ya all drool!

Cinnabon eat yer heart out!

Kinda reminds me of an old saying about women ... that there is no such thing as a bad woman; there is only good and better ....

But ya know, as I get older, I think I prefer sourdough cinnamon rolls ...

And still hopin' for that recipe ....

And still got the kayak paddles and stuff in the trunk of the car on the ready ...

Well here is what them rolls looked like before I put topping on them. And here is the recipe:

2 cups flour
1 cup evaproated milk
1/2 cup sourdough start
1/4 cup butter
3 tbs sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour (or more)
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbs melted butter
AT NITE:
combine start milk and 2 cups of flour in large bowl. Cover and leave at room temp overnite
IN THE AM:
beat together butter sugar and egg. blend into sourdough mix. Comining with the 1 1/2 cups flour soda baking powder and salt and mix well. Turn onto a floured board and knead until satiny adding flour if necessary. Roll out to a 8x16 inch rectangle. Brush surface with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnimon filling prseeing it lightly into the dough. Start at one of the long sides and roll up dough. cut at 1 3/4 inch intervals with sharp knife or string . Dip top and bottom of each roll in melted butter. Place in pan covered loosely and let rise for one hour our till almost doubled.. Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes.
Cinnamon Filling
Combine and mixwell: 1/3 cup melted butter 1 cup brown sugar 1/8 tsp cloves 2 tsp cinnamon (walnuts and raisins optional)

I make a topping of cream cheese, pwodered sugar and vinilla. they are really rich.better than a cinnabon!!

Ifn ya wants a sourdough start made from mine, I can give you some powdered from mine, and my hotcake recipe for $5 plus a $1 for shipping.

good luck

Sourdough sinner-man rolls are great, I make mine a bit different, I used canned milk and don't use the baking soda or baking powder, I let the yeast in the starter do all the leavening, but it takes a starter with a good active yeast culture to do it.

Curley, why don't you post that recipe and picture in Cosies Corner or if you don't mind I'll just copy the post and add it.
