Location of Trigger Return Spring on '73?

Has anyone out there even placed the trigger return spring on their '73 so that it was underneath the upper part of the trigger (the part that engages the sear) and atop the lower part (the part the is the trigger)?

In other words, is it possible to assemble the gun this way?  Is it possible for the spring to pass the upper shelf and end up on the lower portion of the trigger through normal operation?  Or, even abnormal operation?

Thanks for any light you may be able to throw on this.
