Money Clips

I worked at a Plastics company for many years and we used to produce a Vinyl Money Clip that was used as a give-a-way item at trade shows. It was fabricated with from a leather looking vinyl. I sure wish I had a sample to show. I made some leather prototypes from memory. Prototype's A, B and C are made from two ply of leather glued together with Barge. Stitching is not needed. Prototype's A and B have the cover or outside made with scraps of fancy pre-finished leather from my local Tandy store. Prototype C was mad from two pieces of 4-5 oz. leather then stamped, dyed and finished. I've been using Prototype A for around six months now and it seems to have held up well.

I have been tweaking the dimensions and design. Prototype D is sort of a final design. I added a pocket for a driver's license or credit cards. Prototype D does require stitching to hold the pocket on.

These are all rough prototypes and I'm going to make some with better quality. With Christmas coming these might serve as inexpensive and easy to make gifts. I'm working on a drawing (PDF) showing the dimensions. If anyone wants a copy, please send me a PM.

Please excuse my lousy photography.

That's a very useful design, pard. I like the #D one with the license/CC pocket. That makes good use of the inside cover. Would that design work as well with a pocket front and back? That's well-thought out.

Howdy Pards,
Many thanks for the kind words. This old timer appreciates it.

Marshall,
You could easily add a pocket to the other side but you may have to make the dollar bill tab just a bit longer so it would fold over the extra thickness better.
