Howdy all.
Got my hands on some # 5 shot for free (25 lbs). I was going to melt it down & cast bullets with it, but now i wonder if i could use it in my shotshells. I have a concern that # 5 will beat up the steel. I believe # 4 is generally outlawed in CAS.
I already manufacture shotshells using # 7.5 shot.
   Anybody out there using # 5 ?
   Your thoughts?
   Cheers,

Howdy,

I shoot #6 all the time.

If the range your club uses allows it, I'd do it!

#5 will work just fine.

Some of the clubs I shoot at specify no shot larger than #6 but others don't care. Generally I don't care either if I'm shooting at ground targets. For flyers i will comply with the club's rules.
