We'll, I'll know in about 30 days if USFA is having issues,,as my new revolver outta be in just about then. I've seen lots of USFA's and they are just THE BEST from the factory. Gorgeous  revolvers,,every one. Even the matt finish Rodeos have an outstanding look.

I wish USFA would start a line of 'open top' 'Colts',,,and,,wish they would get into producing the 1873 Winchestere. I'd mortage the house for funds I'm sure ! One would think the '73 would be a 'win win' for USFA and everyone.

Gentlemen,

Suppose this might not be the correct place to talk 'bout Colts 'cept Deadeye Don didn't give a good answer 'bout a sell out so I went on to educate myself.  I'm better now after researching the Colt & USFA web sites and I'mma thinking, these two manufactures are just in a "P-n" match on each other; consequently. the customer gets a hose-n (clearly No grease nor kiss) on price, quality, service as I see it and a hear-n.

Marshal Deadwood,

Are you talking "bout the Colt "Cowboy Single Action" that came out in say late 1998 for sure in 1999?  I don't understand the "ROFLOL"..... ???.....Please explain if you would Sir.

Your were talking a literal sell out and I thought you meant a figurative sell out.  Clearly,  USFA didnt purchase Colt.  I thought eveybody would have known this.  As Rawhide Rio stated,  USFA could not possibly buy out Colt.   Colt makes fine handguns and the quality has improved significantly from the early third generation models.

Talked to my pro gunsmith friend today and now have yet another interesting Colt story. A gent just recently recieved a new colt, brought it to Scotty to have it 'tuned',,,and when Scotty removed the ejector rod and ejector rod housing this morning,,he screwed the barrel from the frame by hand.

I'm anxious to hear/see what else this paticular revolver shines on us in the 'quality' debate. I'll be going over later this afternoon to view this gun and its personalities in person.

The pony rides yet again.

Hey, MD, take a picture of that!  It has the potential to become an urban legend, but if we had a picture to go with the story we could have some fun with the Colt fan(atic)s!  ;D

They did, back about 1993 , I have one (course they did not make many   ;) )
...
yeti76620 ...with all do respect .... I suspect the common denominator was HOT loads not the fact their guns were Italian.
Next trip to my FFL, I'll take a photo of a Third Generation Colt (top strap twisted and Cylinder blown out ) $1300 scrape iron serves as a warning.
when planets align...do the deal !
