Here are some pics of the Bowie Knife.  Got the stuff I shipped from Denver.  I would like to change the handle to a stag handle so if anyone can do that PM Me.

AC, thats a great looking knife and very unusal. I don't think I would change a thing. It looks like it already has either antler or some kind of bone handle and being so different makes it more valuable. I have looked at a lot of knives over the years and never saw one like that. Treasure it for where it came from and its uniqueness. Its a beauty.
Lost..... I ain't never been lost...... fearsome confused fer a month er two once... but I never been lost.

AC, I took a closer look, and GB is right, it does look like bone, maybe a femur, but either way it would be a shame to change it out, that handle is very unique the way it is, and the knife might be just might be very valuable, messing with the handle could lesson the value quit a bit, just my .02 cents worth.

Boy what a knife and original, man i would have to put that in a shadow box with a pic of your dad, that is way way cool.

Would i be too far off thinkin that may be a guacho knife? Post that over at the cutting edge, just don't let Delmonico see it :)

I hate to agree with you know who but he might be right about that knife being of South American origin. Like he said post it over onthe Cutting Edge an let one of the experts take a gander at it.

When I was doing research about Beluques, I found this excellent treatise on South American Knives .... nevermind what the link says:

http://www.vikingsword.com/ethsword/facon/criollo.html

The authour placed his email on the page, so I figered 'what the heck?' and wrote him  ..... and he actually  returned the email ... he was kind, courteous and was very interested in SASS.

So it might be worth sending him a pic and see what he thinks

FWIW ...
