He has been home resting. Went today to have the staples pulled. Still a bit bloated but seems to be on the mend.

I'm sure he will pop in afore long and update us.

My friends and fellow Troopers:

Thank you all VERY much for your kind words, prayers, and concerns.

Yes, I'm doing pretty well - all things considered.  The pain has subsided to a dull ache, but I'm still pretty bloated ... but that is improving daily.

I had some concerns about the breathing tube removal at the hospital.  Turned out to be uncomfortable only.  Then, I was really worried about the catheter removal.  Another non-problem.  Same with the drain tube from my side.  No biggie.

Then came the staple removal day.  The biggie worry!  Not only was it no real problem, but they let me keep the staple removal tool (made by 3M) as a keepsake!

So now I watch a lot of TV and read as I still have a lifting restriction of 8 lbs for the next 8-10 weeks.  I really look forward to getting back into the swing of things as my trigger finger has a terrible itch!

Again, thanks for all the support and friendship you all have shown!

Sincerely,

(Bvt.) Lt.Col. Jeff "Steel Horse Bailey"
