There is a post on the NCOWS child board that informs that Steel Horse Bailey had surgery Monday for kidney cancer, and has had some minor complications in recovery.

Please join me in offering prayers and let's keep Jeff in our thoughts.

One of Jeff's close friends, Dave Hollandsworth(JED COOPER), is keeping in touch with Jeff's daughter every day. Jeff is at the VA hospital in Indy. He is supposed to be there for about a week.  Keep my Friend in your prayers.

Was fortunate 'nuff ta press flesh with Steel Hoss a few years ago. Looked the man in the eye. Lookin' a man in the eye means much to me. It was an honor.

My prayers for him, his family and friends. Get well, Jeff!

They weren't supposed to let Jeff have calls in SIC, but they made an exception for me. I just got off the phone with him. He sounds good but is in some pain.  He hopes to get moved to a regular room with a phone in a few days. I told him that our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Well I've got an update, I'm at work, the phone rang on an outside call and guess who it was?  We only had about 5 minutes to talk before I got busy but he sounds good, much better than many times I've talked to him in recent months.  He says he sore and bloated, but that is to be expected.  We're gonna try to connect sometime before I have to go to work tommorow and have a good long talk.
