Few folks I know whut sells auto parts sips on Code Red from the time they get there 'til the time they leave.  Poured me some fresh inta a paper cup one afternoon 'n gave it a taste.  Man, that stuff would give anyone a headache.............

The Great Plains was quite a shock for folks from the forested east who were travlin' to Ore-e-gun or Cally-forn-yah on the overland trail, the lack of trees made fuel for campfires hard to find or even impossible, causin' many to burn dried Buffalo Poop.

Also at meal breaks the shade provided by the wagon was often all there was.

But the biggest problem was with the wimmin who did not want to stray far from the wagon train. there was no trees or bushes to use when one had to go potty.  Rather than expose themselves to the men folks in the wagon train, several wimmin would go a short distance from the wagon train and one would go potty while the rest sheilded them from view, takin' turns going potty and being a shield. 

This custom became ingrained in wimmin folks and explains to this day why they go to the potty in groups.
