The bite was on the cheek without the splinter .  Trinity is unsure what kind of spider it was, but it scared the poop out of him, so the spider was indeed brown and afterwards... it was sort of reclusive.

I asked Pa about that once.  He said if I was dumb enough to make a metal lid, and even stupider enough to sit down an' get froze to it, I could sit out there 'til spring thaw come around.  Said he wasn't gonna waste time an' fire wood heatin' up water to melt me loose.

Sorta took the urge to do it away right quick like.

Trinity did it, though.  I laughed an' was gonna leave him out there, but Calvin Leavitt peed on him an' he broke loose without losin' too much hide.

Just before going to bed, Delmonico stops in this here thread and paint's the inside of Trinity's outhouses pink.  What he doesn't realize as he's doing it, is that Slim is sittin' in the #3 one poopin'.  So for the last time this weekend Delmonico paints Slim Pink
