A Company in Theatre seems to need an MP Platoon Leader Replacement....Looks like I report to active duty on December 5th.

Wish me luck boys, too bad I can't bring my Colt .45's with me.  Now this could still be called off, but I don't think so it will.

Vaya con Dios, Major.  We'll keep a light in the window.

The real deal. I hope you kick some terrorist butt.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Seeing how the Army isn't equipped to knock the Marine out of anyone-Good luck MARINE!

Going to a new unit and not being with them during the deployment workup is certainly a challange, but from the way people spoke of you at the last Grand Muster, I know you'll do just fine!

Can't is subjective ;) but I'm sure you'll find some good stuff over there!

Frenchie

I don't believe in luck, unless luck is what you have when you're prepared. So, Richard, be prepared, and keep a clear eye.
Yours, &c.,

Thanks all,

I will do my best to bring my soldiers home safely with a successful mission.

Charles,

Holy Cow, were you carrying an FN?  That AK is a bit sexy too.....

Best wishes to you Major Matt! Just remember, it isn't SASS, so no "stand and deliver", keep your head down!

Charles DOES like to collect cool things, I bet a guy could spend all day checking out his gun room.

Charles Isaac

And I'm still wanting to collect Pony Express's Colts Bisley!

The Yugo Krink belonged to one of the interpreters and you are correct, that is an FN Rifle. I really don't like the 5.56 round  and I couldn't find an M14, so I had to settle for my second favorite full auto .308 twenty-shooter. But it is a close second.

I always felt like I was starting over again every time I changed duty stations. Showing up at a new unit always entails proving yourself, doesn't it?

I can see your future Soldiers now....

"Hey, who's that old Lieutenant?"  ;D

Major Matt Lewis

LOL....i never thought of that...I have earned a healthy respect for my current platoon and vice versa.  I AM leaving some good kids.
But being an old LT does have it's advantages.  Being more mature and seasoned than a 22 year old, plus I can ruck march MOST into the dirt.....LOL

I'll pass on some advice I got before I went to 'Nam the first time:

"Keep your spirits up and your ass down."
People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Major Matt Lewis

Easier said than done....one of the disadvantages of being 38 instead of 22 is that I have a much bigger ass to keep down...LOL :D

But, alas I will do my best. ;)

MM - be safe my friend.

I have a few coasties heading over that way as augmentee's.

Keep an eye out for them and make sure they heed their army training and ground shipmates.

We will keep a light on for you in Virginny!
