Anyone seen or have the Tru-Ivory Ultra-Aged grips advertised on the USFA site?  I have a set of Tru-Ivory Slightly Aged on another SAA and they look great, but would like a slightly darker set on my USFA.  The Ultra-Aged on their site however looked brilliant (as in almost fluorescent) yellow (not the desired effect), and there weren't really any close-up photos.  A little confusing also, since Tru-Ivory grades their grips as NW (Natural White), SA (Slightly Aged), Antique (A), and Ultra Antique (UA).  USFA site lists their darkest color as "Ultra Aged (Antique)", so I'm not sure if that means "Antique" or "Ultra Antique" in Tru-Ivory parlance.   I like Tru-Ivory as opposed to the real thing, for a whole bunch of reasons.  Opinions?  Thanks!

I'd call tru-ivory & get the answer from the elephants mouth, so to speak.

I would go with the slightly aged ones.  They will darken over time with use.  I have the slightly aged ones and they look great on two of my USFAs.  You might also call Tru Ivory and ask if there is anyway to slightly darken the "slightly aged" ones faster.

Thanks Gang!  I'll chat w/Gary and see what USFA actually means by "Ultra"; good ideas here...

Doc H:

I have one piece Tru-Ivory antique grips for my Rodeo II. Am very impressed. I would call Tru-Ivory. The gal (don't remenber her name) that I worked with was a delight. I had ordered the ultra antique grips, she suggested the antiqued and she was right. I wanted them beveled at the base and the thickness of a Uberti Navy Colt. She called me a couple times to make sure everything was right and it was. Price was 175.00 fitted. I called USFA to get a price on the grips for the recently purchased Rodeo II and they told me 250.00. USFA's customer service is tops, but, I thought they could have done better on this.
