I am so happy with this Colt. I attended an estate auction of a very large gun collection. I was the only one bidding on the old Colts. Everyone else was paying too much for guns that they could buy at local gun shops for cheaper.

I won't mention how little I paid for the 1860. It may make many of you angry with me. Lets put it this way, I have paid more for some modern reproductions...

Nice video & find with that 1860......I'm a big fan of that model.

I happened to be paying for a '73 Winchester at one of the Gun Auction houses when the video monitor showed a nice-looking 1860....it sold for around $400. My jaw dropped and wished I'd saved my cash for that one and the next couple that sold. -Freaky!

Some years back..I was as the 115th. Gettysburg Reenactment...a suttler had an all numbers matching, 1860 with Case color still showing and about 80% Blue, and good Cartouche.
The Price he asked & I paid well ...call it theft... it functioned fine then but has developed a minor timing issue..cock with authority and all is well..but light thumb it and it will not always lock up.
It may be seen at 3 Oclock in this photo ( the one without finish is a 30 year old Second Gen Colt now with an R&D Cyl.)
I have to admit, I never shot the now lettered circa 1862..but the 2nd Gen. no clue , thousands as C&B and several hundred as a conversion.
when planets align...do the deal !
