45 Long Colt ammo won't go in the loading gate of my Browning 92 44 Magnums. :-[

Yeah, Dick, the .45 sure will go into a .44WCF or even a .38WCF.

The 45 Colt will go into my Rossi 92 in 44-40 loading gate and then into the magazine tube. I just make sure that I load the correct ammo into the rifle first then the 45 Colts into the revolvers next. That will be taken care of when my 44-40 revolvers arrive from Long Hunter. I then can shoot both calibers on different days.

Howdy,

My ever great love is my Winchester "73 and I reload 44-40 WCF and it works great.
When God had an riffle he would choose this riffle en this ammo and reloading by your own, you forgot you are married and have to go to your mother in law that evening. It's a great time having it and i thanks Mr Brouwing fon inventing this technic.

Keep your gunpowder dry, you may need it soon !

Dang it, seeing all these posts mentioning or hinting that 45 Colt is messy or bad in rifles because of "blowback" into the action make me say GRRR.  Anneal your cases and you will have no problems with it!

I agree that annealing the .45 Colt cas and puting a compressed 40 grains of Black Powder in that case with a 250 grain  PRS Big Lube Boolit will solve most of your obturation problems and prevent most of the fouling from blowing back into the action, however, I like to work smarter, not harder......Most of the time, that is. ;D
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.
