Chief Guns

I just picked up a Uberti cattleman in 45 colt and a winchester 94 in 30/30. with these can I get in to any cowboy shooting with SAS or do i have to get different caliber?

Mccallisterbrian,

The Uberti cattleman is good but the 94 in 30-30 is too hot for the targets, you will need a rifle in a pistol caliber,  you may wish to look at 45 in that rifle so you will only have to load one caliber.  You may also wish to consider reloading as we use a lot of ammo in this sport.  Any other question I can answer do not hesatate to ask,we all started out in this sport with little knowledge and a lot of questions.

thanks for the info. I shot for the last 20 years until I retired from the navy. But , it was a whole different beast. That kind of shooting i know inside and out. So Im just looking for something to do with my free time when im not playing with my horses. I picked up the 30/30 for sue on my farm and to carry on the horse and in the truck. So, I will keep this a s my mud gun and pick up one in 45 colt.
