The GAF Compition page has been updated with all rules revisions as discussed by the General Staff at the Grand Muster.  Minor tweaks, the inclusion of the "Little" rule to the Staff officer class.  We were all highly pleased with how well the rules package and class structure worked at Ft. Hartsuff, and the evident enjoyment of all who participated.

Thanks again to all who participated, both in presence and here in the Barracks.  Your suggestions and enthusiasm have served the GAF well.  To those who could not make it, I can only say what will be said thru the years.  "Y'shoulda been at Ft. Hartsuff!"

Come on...I only took that bonus shot for the fun of it! The first four were only spotter rounds since I've never shot that gun past 25 yds and it's a pinched frame, old model with 6.5 gr. of Trail Boss. Should I go on? :>)

Pure dumb luck is no excuse.  We would not believe it ennyways . . . ;D

I might concede that there was a modicum of supernatural help with that shot since all of my longrange revolver shooting is done with a Ruger Bisley with adj. sights or the JP Sauer SA (which was in the trunk of the car) and hundreds of practice rounds the rest of the year as well as a 200-600 yd competition at Raton, NM each year. I think I shall make an attempt at Carnegie Hall next year.  Familiarity with a weapon is the only cure for inaccurate shooting (and anyone can rectify that). I heard that somewhere while in the Army.

BTW, how do you add those silly little face icons to a message, I haven't figured it out yet?

Col. Drydock, You really know how to hurt a guy! I really missed not being there this year, even with the snow. I was there in spirit anyway. I've got the Trapdoor and hopefully the Krag next week. Now, I will have to learn to shoot them both. The Krag ammo is as scarce as hen's teeth. I'm trying to come up with at least a 100 empty cases to reload. I have never been much of a rifle shot. I applaude you hearty folks shooting in the snow.

If I missed, it was because I was shivering . . .

Y'see Captain, the command staff was back behind the line discussing wether or not we should require the Staff Officer to engage rifle targets, if perhaps that was demanding too much of their sheltered pschyes.  When all of a sudden them Texicans a started in to whoopin' and hollerin' about how Capt. Little done nailed the 200 yard target with his pistol!  We all looked at each other in one accord. "Yep, make 'em shoot 'em all."

So, as in so many other things, its the Texicans fault . . .   :P

Them folks from south central Texas ain't used to seeing snow that much, they sorta went crazy it seems.  The part of Texas that I am from is the High Plains of the Texas Panhandle and it snows up there. Blizzards are common with lots O snow. That's why I live in the D/FW area. cause it doesn't snow here very much. I like it that way.

Yep, that explains it. When they came in gliggling like little school girls and hopping up and down going, "It's Snowing! It's snowing! Hee hee hee." We all thought they'd lost their mind. Now I know we were right.  ::)

Well,  you're right about them having a right to giggle about snow since it is a long time between snows in South Texas. Laredo had 5" a couple of years ago at New Years and it shut down the town. While living in Carrizo Springs in "88" we had the coldest temp on record with barely discernable snow flakes...it got down to 46 degrees and some folks were wearing down jackets and those ugly Moon Boots.

Yep, blame it on the Texicans! That's what Santa Anna said after they sent him home from San Jacinto. When he got home his  wife told him he looked terrible and asked what happened.  Franz Siegel used that same line after he and his were defeated at the Battle of Wilson's Creek just outside of Springfield, MO. Old Ben McCulloch and his Texas troops made them sqeal like 13 year old girls in that one. Can Y'all guess where I moved to MO from (wife was having culture shock)?

I didn't know where else to post this but myself and Sgt Jackson Payne took First Place in category at the first annual Regulators Revenge CAS match at our club in Marble Falls, TX.  I shot my '74 Sharp's Carbine and Sgt Payne shot his '94 Win .30-30
