Howdy, pards. The conference is over (taught the dowsing school, gave 2 presentations, moderated a discussion panel and gave an all-day workshop, 6 days in all), my father-in-law got his pacemaker in and is doing fine (only 11 staples in his head where he took out the candy shelf at the corner store when he fell), the dog is well and ready to go after frisbees although he'll probably be cautious about biting bees again, my sister got a new water heater (a lot of drama with that one) and is all showered up, an old friend who was having lots of health issues passed. Other than that, my 4th was rather uninteresting. ;D

Ace! Good to see you back with us. We missed you around here.

Now to get caught up on what's going on around here.  :D

Howdy Pards, :)
I am going to do my best to make myself get on here more! I have been doing my best to stay out of trouble!!! Seems like no matter where I am it seems to follow me!! NOT REALY!! I just don't have in fire going because every time I try to do something I pay for it big time!!! >:( I just find that if I stay in the house and most of the time in bed I can slide by with my pain meds and not suffer very much!! BUT man that is getting old and playing he$$ on my mind!25 years ago I built some AR 15's for my friend, here the other day my brother in law and my nephew wanted me to fix them up. So I spent a couple days on the net finding the best parts for the least amount of money and put a few rifles toghter. The nice thing about putting them toghter is you can do it in the house and do as little as you want to at a time.
Saying that was the most fun i have had in 6 months sounds bad, but it was nice to do something for someone and get the reward of knowing you did something good.
You all keep up the good work

I tried dowsing for awhile but my rod couldn't find water to save me.  I gave it up when I dang near drowned getting back to shore after I waded out fifty yards from shore without so much as a twitch from my dowsing rod.  ::)

Ace, we'd like you back full time, but understand the situation and will take what we can get.  Just drop in once in a while.

Glad to see you back here Ace!!

I just got back from my annual Cody Wyoming trip. Was a pretty good trip all in all, but family situations just as we were leaving made us change our travel plans and not head over to Sheridan as planned. It was too late in the day to make it over the mountains, etc, so we just headed straight to Casper for the night.
While in Cody, we watched the 4th of July parade, which was very nice and long. Its nice to see a town that pulls itself together like that to get something done.
I also hit a few of my favorite shops while I was there, and showed off a bit of my leather goods to one of the shops. He told me to bring back more, and he would trade me merchandise for it next time... MIght have to do that, as he has VERY neat stuff in there.
Then, in another little shop, I asked for leather tools. THe guy at the counter said no, but the elderly woman walking out the door said yes. She sent me out to talk to her husband, Gilbert, and we then went to their house to look.
I bought a big stack of patterns, most of which I have not seen, a few old stamps, and some handtools and a nice Osborne headknife. Some of them were Rampart. I tried to buy all of the tools, but he kept saying that I didnt need it all. Oh well. When I left, he told me to just take all of it, but I told him he would need them in a few days anyway, as he had all of his stuff out and ready to go now. Maybe I will revisit him next trip and strike up another deal.

Dalton, sounds like you had a good trip overall. Cody is a really cool city to visit. I've been there twice on the way home from Sturgis, heading towards Yellowstone. The Cody Museum is a must see if you are within 200 miles as far as I'm concerned. I went through a number of shops last time; too much cool stuff, not enough coin.

Dave Cole ROCKS !

JD,
My favorite spot gives a cowboy/real people discount. He said the prices were tourist prices. One of these days, I will take him up on something.
