Thanks pards.
Yes, I do my own patterns, though I use motifs I've come across in Packing Iron and Cowboys & The Trappings of the Old West. I'm an illustrator, so the drawing aspect is okay for me.

Sheridan carving is a modern version of the traditional style. I have the book by Bill Gardner and Clinton Faye. Very interesting and useful - though the 19th century style is different...

Boothill Bob

Are there books and photos about it?

Howdy Pards!!

WoW!! I haven't been here in so long!! After some bad luck in life I am finally back in the saddle. Job loss due to a major fire at work that destroyed the dealership I worked for.....(No, I didn't light it! ;D) left me with limited funds to do leather work. As of now I am back at it and currently on the job search in western states and looking to relocate.......enough of that!

Check out some new work........MUCH MORE TO COME!!!!

EE, that is a beauty for sure.

Well I haven't posted anything up for a while so I figured I'd show my new purse I made the other day :D

I had accumulated some less than perfect but too large to throw out 4-5 oz pieces and figured it would be just right to make me a new/old looking hunting pouch.

I got some ideas from T. C. Albert's book and here's what I came up with.
